Evangelism:
God Space by Doug Pollock
This is a great little book that takes a look at what it means to create space in our relationships for spiritual conversations to occur authentically and naturally. As the evangelism coach for Athletes in Action, Pollock shares both his successes and the failures that taught him how to better communicate and genuinely love others.
Leadership:
Leading from the Second Chair by Mike Bonem and Roger Patterson
Leading from the Second Chair is a very thorough, realistic, and clear guide for anyone who is under another’s authority (everyone) summed up in several Paradoxes: Subordinate vs. Leader; Deep vs. Wide; Contentment vs. Dreaming.
Spiritual Growth:
The Signature of Jesus
The Signature of Jesus by Brennan Manning explores what it means to sign every area of your life with the signature of Jesus. Manning calls us to be radical disciples in this world in the wake of the amazing saving grace we experienced in the cross of Jesus Christ. He calls for followers of Jesus to die to themselves, take up their crosses in their daily lives and not simply wear them around their necks. He pleads for followers of Jesus to take the high road to Calvary each and every day. "Littered along the Calvary road will lie the skeletons of our egos, the corpses of our fantasies of control, and the shards of self-righteousness, self-indulgent spirituality, and unfreedom.”
